we are more than just an office furniture store we are more than just an office furniture store

We are an office furniture store with a social responsibility!

About

In 1979, the late Paul E. Walsh founded Island Furniture Association, a not-for-profit organization manufacturing furniture and employing intellectually challenged individuals. The objective of this newly established organization was to become a viable business entity creating “real jobs” for intellectually challenged persons.

Since inception, we have successfully trained, employed and co-oped salaries of numerous intellectually challenged young adults throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Over the years, we have evolved to become one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s leading suppliers of office furniture.

We continue to support and encourage intellectually challenged young adults to become productive members of society.

  • We currently employ seven individuals with intellectual challenges throughout all divisions of the company.
  • Since 2000, we have dispersed in excess of $7 million to various Supported Employment Agencies, businesses and charitable organizations across the province.
  • Funding has provided more than 1,500 job placements for intellectually challenged persons with a percentage outside the St. John’s area.

Our heart and soul is in our community support

Island Office was founded with a vision to provide meaningful employment to individuals with intellectual challenges. When you make a purchase from Island Office, you are helping us help others!
